I <br /> I <br /> 1 Prior to the Pre Turn-on coordination meeting, the Contractor shall complete the <br /> I <br /> 2 <br /> 3 items of work detailed in the Traffic Signal Turn-on Checklist and submit the <br /> completed checklist to the Engineer. The Traffic Signal Turn-on Checklist form will <br /> 4 be furnished to the Contractor by the Engineer. <br /> I 5 <br /> 6 Prior to scheduling a turn-on date, the Contractor shall provide verification to the <br /> 7 Engineer that tests 1, 2, and 3 as specified in this section have been completed. <br /> ' 8 <br /> 9 Prior to scheduling a turn-on date, the Contractor shall provide verification to the <br /> 10 Engineer that: <br /> 11 <br /> I 12 A) Field tests 1, 2, 3 and 4 as specified in this section have been <br /> 13 completed; <br /> 14 <br /> I 15 B) All other field tests specified in Section 8-20.3(14) have been <br /> 16 completed. <br /> 17 <br /> I <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Paragraph 4, sentence 2 of the Standard Specifications ("The Contractor shall <br /> provide the Engineer a minimum of 5-days advance written notice of the proposed <br /> 20 traffic signal turn-on date and time.), shall be replaced with the following: <br /> I 21 <br /> 22 Upon the essential completion of the traffic signal construction, the Contractor <br /> 23 shall provide the Engineer with a minimum of five (5) working days advance <br /> 24 written notice of their requested traffic signal turn-on date and time. As part <br /> 25 of the minimum of five (5) days advance written notice of the proposed signal <br /> 26 turn-on, a minimum of two (2) working days shall be provided with an <br /> 27 essentially complete signal system to allow the City traffic signal technician to <br /> I <br /> 28 inspect the installation and equipment and cabinet wiring terminations. The <br /> 29 Engineer will then determine if the date and time is acceptable; if not, a new <br /> 30 date and time will be negotiated that is agreeable to both the Contractor and <br /> I <br /> 31 <br /> 32 the City. Included with this written notice shall be a signal plan, prepared by <br /> the Contractor, showing the anticipated conditions at the time of signal turn- <br /> 33 on unless the signal is to be turned on and operated in the final configuration <br /> I <br /> 34 <br /> 35 indicated on the bid plan set. Any interim plan shall show all items affecting <br /> the operation of the traffic signal, the channelization and other traffic control <br /> 36 devices. In cases where the traffic signal is to be turned on in a condition <br /> I37 substantially different than intended in the original contract plans, a minimum <br /> 38 of ten (10) working days written notice shall be required. This notice shall <br /> 39 include detailed plans, prepared by the Contractor, showing the proposed <br /> 40 signal configuration at turn-on. <br /> I 41 <br /> 42 8-20.3(11)A Traffic Control (New Section) <br /> 43 <br /> I 44 The Contractor shall provide uniformed Police control at any time an <br /> 45 intersection is dark or inoperative, such as during controller change-out, cable <br /> 46 installation, signal turn-on or cut-over, or similar circumstances. The <br /> I <br /> 47 <br /> 48 Contractor shall have all traffic controls (i.e., pavement markings, <br /> channelization and signing) in place prior to requesting Engineer's approval for <br /> 49 turn-on or cut-over. Signalized intersections of Pacific Ave and Rucker Ave, <br /> 1 <br /> 50 <br /> 51 Pacific Ave and Grand Ave, and Pacific Ave and W Marine View Drive shall not <br /> be police controlled between the hours of 12:00pm to 7:30pm.
