1 <br /> 1 <br /> ' 2 6-13.3(2) Submittals <br /> 3 In the first paragraph, the first sentence is revised to read: <br /> 4 <br /> 5 The Contractor, or the supplier as the Contractor's agent, shall furnish a Manufacturer's <br /> 6 Certificate of Compliance certifying that the structural earth wall materials conform to <br /> 7 the specified material requirements. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 The second paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 10 <br /> 11 A Type 1 Working Drawing of all test results, performed by the Contractor or the <br /> ' 12 Contractor's supplier, which are necessary to assure compliance with the specifications, <br /> 13 shall submitted along with each Manufacturer's Certificate of Compliance. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 In the third paragraph, the first sentence is revised to read: <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Before fabrication, the Contractor shall submit a Type 1 Working Drawing consisting of <br /> ' 18 <br /> 19 the field construction manual for the structural earth walls, prepared by the wall <br /> manufacturer. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 In the fourth paragraph, the first sentence is revised to read: <br /> 22 <br /> 23 The Contractor, through the license/patent holder for the structural earth wall system, <br /> 24 shall submit Type 2E Working Drawings consisting of detailed design calculations and <br /> ' 25 details. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 The last paragraph is deleted. <br /> ' 28 <br /> 29 6-13.3(3) Excavation and Foundation Preparation <br /> 30 In the first paragraph, the last two sentences are revised to read: <br /> ' 31 <br /> 32 The foundation for the structure shall be graded level for a width equal to or exceeding <br /> 33 the length of reinforcing as shown in the structural earth wall working drawings and, for <br /> 34 walls with geogrid reinforcing, in accordance with Section 2-12.3. Prior to wall <br /> 35 construction, the foundation, if not in rock, shall be compacted as accepted by the <br /> 36 Engineer. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 6-13.3(6) Welded Wire Faced Structural Earth Wall Erection <br /> 39 The first two sentences are revised to read: <br /> ' 40 <br /> 41 The Contractor shall erect the welded wire wall reinforcement in accordance with the <br /> 42 wall manufacturer's field construction manual. Construction geotextile for wall facing <br /> 43 shall be placed between the backfill material within the reinforced zone and the coarse <br /> 44 granular material immediately behind the welded wire wall facing, as shown in the Plans <br /> 45 and the structural earth wall working drawings. <br /> 46 <br /> ' 47 6-13.3(7) Backfill <br /> 48 The third paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 49 <br /> 50 Misalignment or distortion of the precast concrete facing panels or concrete blocks due <br /> 51 to placement of backfill outside the limits of this specification shall be corrected in a <br /> 52 manner acceptable to the Engineer. <br /> AMENDMENTS TO THE 2014 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS BOOK <br /> Revised: 8/3/15 <br />
