1 <br /> 1 primer conforming to Section 9-08.1(2)F. Keyways shall be filled with grout <br /> 2 conforming to Section 6-02.3(25)0. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 7-02.3(6)C Precast Reinf. Conc. Box Culverts (PRCBC) and Precast Reinf. <br /> 5 Conc. Split Box Culverts (PRCSBC) <br /> 6 7-02.3(6)C1 Casting <br /> 7 PRCSBC shall consist of lid elements and "U" shaped base elements. The <br /> 8 vertical legs of the "U" shaped base elements shall be full height matching the <br /> 9 rise of the culvert, except as otherwise specified for culvert spans greater than <br /> 10 20-feet. For PRCSBC spans greater than 20-feet (as defined in Section 7- <br /> 11 02.3(6)A1), the lid elements may include vertical legs of a maximum length of <br /> 12 4-feet, provided the legs of the base and top units are connected in <br /> 13 accordance with Section 7-02.3(6)C3. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 The joints of the "U" shaped base elements and the lid elements shall be <br /> 16 staggered such that the lid element joints occur between quarter-points of the <br /> 17 base element. <br /> 18 I 19 When the top unit includes vertical legs, the legs of the base and top units <br /> 20 shall be connected by weld-tie anchors in accordance with Section 6- <br /> 21 02.3(25)0. The weld-tie anchor spacing shall not exceed 6'-0". <br /> 22 <br /> 23 7-02.3(6)C2 Finishing <br /> 24 The following information shall be legibly and permanently marked on one <br /> 25 inside face of each PRCBC element, or one inside face of each PRCSBC "U" <br /> 26 shaped base element by indentation, waterproof paint, or other means <br /> 27 acceptable to the Engineer: <br /> 28 <br /> 29 1. Box section span and rise dimensions, minimum and maximum <br /> 30 design earth cover dimensions, and vehicular live load for design <br /> 31 (HL-93). <br /> 32 <br /> 33 2. WSDOT Contract Number and date of fabrication. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 3. Name or trademark of the fabricator. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 7-02.3(6)C3 Erection <br /> 38 PRCBC and PRCSBC shall be erected and backfilled in accordance with the <br /> 39 erection sequence specified in the Working Drawing submittal, and the <br /> 40 construction equipment restrictions specified in Section 6-02.3(25)0. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Elastomeric gaskets shall be installed at all joints between precast elements <br /> 43 (except weld-tie connected joints), and shall be in full contact with both precast <br /> 44 elements at the joint prior to the remainder of the joint being completely filled <br /> 45 with grout. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 When the top unit of a PRCSBC includes vertical legs, the legs of the base <br /> 48 and top units shall be connected by welding the weld-tie anchors in <br /> 49 accordance with Section 6-02.3(25)0. After connecting the weld-tie anchors, <br /> 50 the Contractor shall paint the exposed metal surfaces with one coat of field <br /> 51 primer conforming to Section 9-08.1(2)F.
