1 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 x. The strategy for cleaning up the infiltration location after the infiltration <br /> 3 activity is done. Cleanup shall include stabilizing any loose sediment <br /> 4 on the surface within the infiltration area generated as a byproduct of <br /> 5 suspended solids in the infiltrated wastewater or soil disturbance <br /> 6 associated with BMP placement and removal. 1 <br /> 7 <br /> 8 2. Shaft drilling mineral slurry, synthetic slurry, or slurry with polymer additives not <br /> 9 approved for infiltration shall be contained and disposed of by the Contractor at111 <br /> 10 an approved disposal facility in accordance with Section 2-03.3(7)C. Spoils that <br /> 11 have come into contact with mineral slurry shall be disposed of in accordance <br /> 12 with Section 6-19.3(4)F. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 8-01.3(1)C4 Management of Off-Site Water <br /> 15 Prior to disruption of the normal watercourse, the Contractor shall intercept the off-site <br /> 16 surface water and pipe it either through or around the project site to prevent it from <br /> 17 coming into contact with construction activity or mixing with construction stormwater. It <br /> 18 shall be discharged at its preconstruction outfall point in such a manner that there is no <br /> 19 increase in erosion downstream of the site. The Contractor shall submit a Type 2III <br /> 20 Working Drawing consisting of the method for performing this Work. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 8-01.3(2)A Preparation for Application <br /> 23 This section's content is deleted and replaced with the following two new subsections: <br /> 24 <br /> 25 8-01.3(2)A1 Seeding I <br /> 26 Areas to be cultivated are shown in the Plans or specified in the Special Provisions. The <br /> 27 areas shall be cultivated to the depths specified to provide a reasonably firm but friable <br /> 28 seedbed. Cultivation shall take place no sooner than 2 weeks prior to seeding. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 All areas to be seeded, including excavated slopes shall be compacted and prepared <br /> 31 unless otherwise specified or ordered by the Engineer. A cleated roller, crawler tractor, <br /> 32 or similar equipment that forms longitudinal depressions at least 2 inches deep shall be <br /> 33 used for compaction and preparation of the surface to be seeded. <br /> 34 ,35 The entire area shall be uniformly covered with longitudinal depressions formed <br /> 36 perpendicular to the natural flow of water on the slope. The soil shall be conditioned <br /> 37 with sufficient water so the longitudinal depressions remain in the soil surface until <br /> 38 completion of the seeding. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Prior to seeding, the finished grade of the soil shall be 1 inch below the top of all curbs, <br /> 41 junction and valve boxes, walks, driveways, and other Structures. The soil shall be in a <br /> 42 weed free and bare condition. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 All bags of seed shall be brought to the site in sealed bags and shall have seed labels <br /> 45 attached showing the seed meets the Specifications. Seed which has become wet, <br /> 46 moldy, or otherwise damaged in transit or storage will not be accepted. <br /> 47 I 48 8-01.3(2)A2 Temporary Seeding <br /> 49 A cleated roller, crawler tractor, or similar equipment that forms longitudinal depressions <br /> 50 at least 2 inches deep shall be used for compaction and preparation of the surface to be <br /> 51 seeded.
