1 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 Working Drawings will be classified under the following categories: <br /> 3 <br /> 4 1. Type 1 — Submitted for Contracting Agency information. Submittal must be <br /> 5 received by the Contracting Agency a minimum of 7 calendar days before work <br /> 6 represented by the submittal begins. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 2. Type 2 — Submitted for Contracting Agency review and comment. Unless <br /> 9 otherwise stated in the Contract, the Engineer will require up to 20 calendar I <br /> 10 days from the date the Working Drawing is received until it is returned to the <br /> 11 Contractor. The Contractor shall not proceed with the Work represented by the <br /> 12 Working Drawing until comments from the Engineer have been addressed. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 3. Type 2E — Same as a Type 2 Working Drawing with Engineering as described <br /> 15 below. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 4. Type 3 —Submitted for Contracting Agency review and approval. Unless <br /> 18 otherwise stated in the Contract, the Engineer will require up to 30 calendar <br /> 19 days from the date the Working Drawing is received until it is returned to the <br /> 20 Contractor. The Contractor shall obtain the Engineer's written approval before <br /> 21 proceeding with the Work represented by the Working Drawing. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 5. Type 3E — Same as a Type 3 Working Drawing with Engineering as described <br /> 24 below. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 All Working Drawings shall be considered Type 3 Working Drawings except as <br /> 27 specifically noted otherwise in the Contract. Unless designated otherwise by the <br /> 28 Contractor, submittals of Working Drawings will be reviewed in the order they are <br /> 29 received by the Engineer. In the event that several Working Drawings are received <br /> 30 simultaneously, the Contractor shall specify the sequence in which they are to be <br /> 31 reviewed. If the Contractor does not submit a review sequence for simultaneous <br /> 32 Working Drawing submittals, the review sequence will be at the Engineer's discretion. III <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Working Drawings requiring Engineering, Type 2E and 3E, shall be prepared by (or <br /> 35 under the direction of) a Professional Engineer, licensed under Title 18 RCW, State of <br /> 36 Washington, and in accordance with WAC 196-23-020. Design calculations shall carry <br /> 37 the Professional Engineer's signature and seal, date of signature, and registration <br /> 38 number on the cover page. The cover page shall also include the Contract number, <br /> 39 Contract title and sequential index to calculation page numbers. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 If more than the specified number of days is required for the Engineer's review of any <br /> 42 individual Working Drawing or resubmittal, an extension of time will be considered in <br /> 43 accordance with Section 1-08.8. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Review or approval of Working Drawings shall neither confer upon the Contracting <br /> 46 Agency nor relieve the Contractor of any responsibility for the accuracy of the drawings <br /> 47 or their conformity with the Contract. The Contractor shall bear all risk and all costs of <br /> 48 any Work delays caused by rejection or nonapproval of Working Drawings. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 Unit Bid prices shall cover all costs of Working Drawings. <br /> 51 <br /> 1 <br /> AMENDMENTS TO THE 2014 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS BOOK <br /> Revised: 8/3/15 <br />
