1 <br /> 1 <br /> I 2 When an existing Structure is widened or when traffic barrier is placed on an existing <br /> 3 Structure, the date shall be for the year in which the original Structure was completed. <br /> 4 <br /> I 5 6-02.3(16) Plans for Falsework and Formwork <br /> 6 This section is revised to read: <br /> 7 <br /> 8 The Contractor shall submit all plans for falsework and formwork as Type 2E Working <br /> 9 Drawings. Submittal is not required for footing or retaining wall formwork if the wall is 4 <br /> 10 feet or less in height (excluding pedestal height). <br /> 11 <br /> I 12 The design of falsework and formwork shall be based on: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 1. Applied loads and conditions which are no less severe than those described in <br /> I 15 Section 6-02.3(17)A, Design Loads; <br /> 16 <br /> 17 2. Allowable stresses and deflections which are no greater than those described <br /> I 18 in Section 6-02.3(17)B, Allowable Stresses and Deflections; <br /> 19 <br /> 20 3. Special loads and requirements no less severe than those described in <br /> I 21 Section 6-02.3(17)C, Falsework and Formwork at Special Locations; <br /> 22 <br /> 23 4. Conditions required by other Sections of 6-02.3(17), Falsework and Formwork. <br /> 24 <br /> I25 The falsework and formwork plans shall be scale drawings showing the details of <br /> 26 proposed construction, including: sizes and properties of all members and components; <br /> 27 spacing of bents, posts, studs, wales, stringers, wedges and bracing; rates of concrete <br /> I <br /> 28 <br /> 29 placement, placement sequence, direction of placement, and location of construction <br /> joints; identification of falsework devices and safe working loads as well as identification <br /> 30 of any bolts or threaded rods used with the devices including their diameter, length, <br /> I 31 type, grade, and required torque. The falsework plans shall show the proximity of <br /> 32 falsework to utilities or any nearby Structures including underground Structures. <br /> 33 Formwork accessories shall be identified according to Section 6-02.3(17)H, Formwork <br /> I 34 Accessories. All assumptions, dimensions, material properties, and other data used in <br /> 35 making the structural analysis shall be noted on the drawing. <br /> 36 <br /> I 37 The Contractor shall furnish associated design calculations to the Engineer as part of <br /> 38 the submittal. The design calculations shall show the stresses and deflections in load <br /> 39 supporting members. Construction details which may be shown in the form of sketches <br /> 40 on the calculation sheets shall be shown in the falsework or formwork drawings as well. <br /> 41 Falsework or formwork plans will be rejected in cases where it is necessary to refer to <br /> 42 the calculation sheets for information needed for complete understanding of the <br /> 43 falsework and formwork plans or how to construct the falsework and formwork. <br /> ' 44 <br /> 45 Each sheet of falsework and formwork plans shall carry the following: <br /> 46 <br /> I <br /> 47 1. The initials and dates of all participating design professionals. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 2. Clear notation of all revisions including identification of who authorized the <br /> 50 revision, who made the revision, and the date of the revision. <br /> 51 <br /> I <br /> I AMENDMENTS TO THE 2014 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS BOOK <br /> Revised: 8/3/15 <br />
