I <br /> 1 6-03.AP6 <br /> 2 Section 6-03, Steel Structures I <br /> 3 April 6, 2015 <br /> 4 6-03.2 Materials 1 <br /> 5 The first sentence in the fifth paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 6 <br /> 7 The Contractor shall submit Type 1 Working Drawings describing the methods for <br /> 8 visibly marking the material so that it can be traced. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 6-03.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 11 This section is revised to read: <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Structural steel fabricators of plate and box girders, floorbeams, truss members, <br /> 14 stringers, cross frames, diaphragms, and laterals shall be certified under the AISC <br /> 15 Certification Program for Steel Bridge Fabricators, Advanced Bridges Category. When <br /> 16 fracture critical members are specified in the contract, structural steel fabricators shall <br /> 17 also meet the supplemental requirements F, Bridges with Fracture-Critical Members, <br /> 18 under the AISC Certification Program for Steel Bridge Fabricators. <br /> 9 <br /> 2 <br /> 20 6-03.3(7) Shop Plans <br /> 21 This section is revised to read: <br /> 22 <br /> 23 The Contractor shall submit all shop detail plans for fabricating the steel as Type 2 <br /> 24 Working Drawings. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 If these plans will be submitted directly from the fabricator, the Contractor shall so notify <br /> 27 the Engineer in writing. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 No material shall be fabricated until: (1) the Working Drawing review is complete, and <br /> 30 (2) the Engineer has accepted the materials source. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Before physical completion of the project, the Contractor shall furnish the Engineer one <br /> 33 set of reproducible copies of the as-built shop plans. The reproducible copies shall be <br /> 34 clear, suitable for microfilming, and on permanent sheets that measure no smaller than <br /> 35 11 by 17-inches.
