ORDINANCE NO. 2771-04 <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for the adoption of the 2003 Edition of the International <br /> Building Codes and repealing Ordinance No. 2362-99 (Chapter 16.01 EMC) and <br /> Ordinance No.'s 2068-95, 1732-90, 1731-90, 1613-89 and 1610-89. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this ordinance serves to protect the public <br /> health, safety and welfare; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the absence of the regulations adopted by <br /> this ordinance would create a public harm and a public nuisance; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City is mandated by the State to <br /> implement and enforce the herein adopted code; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN; <br /> Section 1: This Ordinance shall be known as the "Everett Building Code." <br /> Section 2: There is hereby established in the City of Everett, the Building <br /> Division which shall be under the jurisdiction of the Building Official, designated by the <br /> Mayor. <br /> Section 3: The International Building Code (hereinafter referred to as "IBC"), <br /> including Appendix Chapters G & J, published by the International Code Council, as <br /> amended by WAC 51-50, the International Residential Code (hereinafter referred to as <br /> "IRC") including Appendix Chapters J & K published by International Code Council as <br /> amended by WAC 51-51 and the International Code Council Performance Code, being <br /> particularly the 2003 Editions thereof and the whole thereof, save and except such portions <br /> as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended are hereby adopted by reference and <br /> incorporated herein as fully as if set out at length herein, collectively referred to herein as <br /> the "code" unless specifically provided otherwise. <br /> Section 4: Amendments made in the International Building Code and the <br /> International Residential Code follow: <br /> A. Section 101 of the 2003 Editions of the IBC and IRC are hereby amended by <br /> inserting the "City of Everett." <br /> B. Section 101.2 (exception 2) of the 2003 Edition of the IBC & Section 101.2 <br /> (exception) of the 2003 Edition of the IRC are hereby deleted. <br /> C. Section 101.3 of the 2003 Editions of the IBC and IRC are hereby amended by the <br /> addition of the following language: <br /> 1 <br /> DEDI/ORDINANCEJINTL BLDG CODE <br />
