Section 2. Chapter 1, Section E of Ordinance No. 2277-98 (EMC 46.68.050), <br /> which reads as follows: <br /> Definitions. <br /> For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply in the <br /> interpretation and enforcement of this chapter: <br /> 1. "Affected employee" means a full-time employee who begins his or her <br /> regular work day at a single worksite between six a.m. and nine a.m. (inclusive) <br /> on two or more weekdays for at least twelve continuous months. The employee <br /> will only be counted at his or her primary worksite. Seasonal agricultural <br /> employees, including seasonal employees of processors of agricultural products, <br /> are excluded from the count of affected employees. <br /> 2. "Affected employer" means an employer that employs one hundred or more <br /> full-time employees at a single worksite who are scheduled to begin their regular <br /> work day between six a.m. and nine a.m. (inclusive) on two or more weekdays <br /> for at least twelve continuous months. Construction worksites, when the <br /> expected duration of the construction is less than two years, are excluded from <br /> this definition. (Also see definition of Employer.) <br /> 3. "Alternative mode" means any means of commute transportation other than <br /> that in which the single-occupant motor vehicle is the dominant mode, including <br /> telecommuting and compressed work weeks if they result in reducing commute <br /> trips. <br /> 4. "Alternative work schedules" means work schedules which allow employees <br /> to work their required hours outside of the traditional Monday to Friday, eight <br /> a.m. to five p.m. schedule. Programs such as compressed work weeks that <br /> eliminate work trips for affected employees are an example. <br /> 5. "Base year" means the period from January 1, 1992, through December 31, <br /> 1992, on which goals for vehicle miles traveled (VMT) per employee and <br /> proportion of single-occupant vehicle (SOV) trips shall be based. <br /> 6. "Carpool" means a motor vehicle occupied by two to six people traveling <br /> together for their commute trip that results in the reduction of a minimum of one <br /> motor vehicle commute trip. <br /> 7. "Commute trips" means trips made from a worker's home to a worksite with <br /> a regularly scheduled work start time between six a.m. and nine a.m. (inclusive) <br /> on weekdays. <br /> 8. "CTR Task Force Guidelines" means a document prepared in 1992 (subject <br /> to revision) by the statewide Commute Trip Reduction Task Force. The <br /> 2 <br />
