Should this proposition be approved? <br /> YES <br /> NO <br /> Section IV. Effect of Election. <br /> Pursuant to RCW 84.55.050, if a simple majority of the qualified electors <br /> voting on the proposition vote in favor of approving, and adoption, thereof, the <br /> proposition shall be deemed approved and shall be adopted. Thereafter, the City <br /> Council shall have the necessary authority to levy, in the manner provided by law, an <br /> emergency medical services property tax levy up to the amount of fifty cents ($0.50) <br /> per one thousand dollars ($1,000) assessed valuation in 2011 and increasing thereafter <br /> as permitted by law. If less than a majority of the qualified voters approve the <br /> proposition, then it shall be deemed rejected by the qualified voters, and the City <br /> Council shall not increase the emergency medical services property tax levy above the <br /> limits established in Chapter 84.55 RCW. The City's authority to levy the existing, <br /> and previously approved, emergency medical services property tax levy shall in no <br /> way be affected by either the approval or rejection of the proposition. <br /> Section V. Filing by City Clerk. <br /> The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to deliver to the Snohomish <br /> County Auditor a certified copy of this Ordinance showing its passage and including <br /> the ballot title set forth herein on, or before, March 12, 2010. <br /> Section VI. Severability. <br /> Should any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion <br /> of this Ordinance or its application to any person or situation be declared <br /> unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of <br /> the remaining sections, subsections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses, phrases, or <br /> portions of this Ordinance. The City Council of the City of Everett hereby declares <br /> that it would have adopted this Ordinance and each section, subsection, paragraph, <br /> sentence, clause, phrase, or portion thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or <br /> more sections, subsections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses, phrases, or portions be <br /> declared invalid or unconstitutional. <br /> 3 <br />
