These grants are intended to supplement the local jurisdiction's emergency management operating budget in an effort to enhance their emergency management program. The City's FFY 10 State Homeland Security EMPG grant award was $73,493 with the requirement of a local match already satisfied by our emergency management operating budget. This budget amendment adds $73,493 to the Fire Department Budget for 2010. The funding of$23,000 is being provided to purchase a dash-mounted radio, 5 portable radios, headsets and other accessories to be installed on a heavy rescue rig. There are no local fund match requirements for this Grant. This budget amendment adds $23,000 to the 2010 fire department budget.
