WHEREAS, Mill Town by Norman H. Clark is the definitive book on the early <br /> development of Everett, has strong association with Everett's history and the mills that <br /> lined the riverfront and waterfront, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> 1. The Everett City Council concurs with the Everett Historical Commission's and <br /> staff's recommendations to rename the bike/pedestrian trail in north Everett beginning on <br /> East Grand Avenue at Everett Avenue and running north on East Grand Avenue and East <br /> Marine View Drive and south on West Marine View Drive to Junction Beach at Pigeon <br /> Creek"Mill Town Trail"; and <br /> 2. The trail referenced above is hereby named"Mill Town Trail" in recognition of <br /> the historic and cultural significance of the many mills which lined the Snohomish River <br /> and Port Gardner Bay waterfront and provided a significant portion of the economic base <br /> for Everett from the 1890s until the closing of the Kimberly Clark Mill. <br /> Councilmember Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED the 10th day of IOr, 2014. <br /> December <br /> Coun ;'1%esident <br /> 2 <br />
