November 14, 2012
The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30
p.m., November 14, 2012 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City
Hall, President Gipson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor
Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Hatloe, Gipson, Burke,
Stonecipher, and Affholter were present. Council Member Moore was
excused.
Council Member Burke led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the November 7, 2012 City Council meeting were
approved as printed. Council Member Hatloe abstained from the vote.
MAYOR
Mayor Stephanson had no comments.
COUNCIL
Council Member Stonecipher remarked that in early 2007 the City Council
adopted the International Fire Code. One of the portions of that code
required that existing buildings make upgrades so they are more safe.
She questioned the status of the implementation of that policy. CAA
Bryant stated that they would provide her with a report at next week's city
council meeting.
Council Member Roberts stated that he attended the Veterans Day
celebration at Naval Station Everett.
Council Member Hatloe thanked the Fire Department for the excellent job
they did in regards to the large fire on Hewitt Avenue this past week.
Council Member Burke, on behalf of the Public Facilities District Board,
stated that some of the tenants displaced by the fire were allowed to
come into the facility where they were provided with shelter. She also
commented on the sold-out concert which was held at the Comcast Arena
last night and complimented the Global Spectrum and Centerplate staffs
for doing an outstanding job.
314
