December 27, 2012 <br /> A special meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 12:30 <br /> p.m., December 27, 2012 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall, Council President Gipson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Gipson, Bader, <br /> Stonecipher and Affholter were present. Council Member Hatloe was <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the December 19, 2012 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> The Mayor had no comments. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Stonecipher stated that she has been contacted by <br /> citizens regarding the bank erosion problems which are affecting the <br /> Sound Transit rail line and a number of residential homes in the north end <br /> of Everett. They expressed concern regarding Burlington Northern's <br /> management of the tree cutting and bank cleanup. Council Member <br /> Stonecipher requested a briefing on what the city can do, what they are <br /> doing, and how the city is interfacing with Burlington Northern. <br /> Council Member Roberts stated that he attended a Sound Transit Board <br /> meeting last week and passed along Council Member Bader's comments <br /> regarding ridership. He advised that the Board passed an amendment to <br /> the Systems Operation Plan which will be implemented next September. <br /> The change will close Sound Transit's bus stops downtown where there is <br /> a duplication of service by Everett Transit or Community Transit. They <br /> also passed an amendment in the Sound Transit budget that accelerates <br /> the planning for Sound Transit 3. <br /> Council President Gipson stated that the council members have received <br /> the interview questions for the Council Position No. 3 candidates.
