The FY 2011 Agreement with the State Department of Commerce provides $35,342 in funding to improve the criminal justice and community response to violence against women in Snohomish County. The grant funds will be used for law enforcement training. City Council approved acceptance of this agreement at the January 18, 2012,Council meeting. These funds are allocated to increase the preparedness capabilities of jurisdictions responsible for the safety and security of communities surrounding high-priority critical infrastructure and key resource assets through planning and equipment acquisition. This grant provides for the acquisition of a mobile command vehicle that would allow the Police department to respond to potential release of hazardous materials. Council approved acceptance of this grant award at the February 15, 2012,Council meeting.
