2012 Budget Adjustments Tally Sheet Department Code Rev Exp FB GGA-19 Police Amendment-Traffic Safety Grant 031A 12,000 GGA-19 General Fund Amendment-Traffic Safety Grant 002A 12,000 The Washington State Traffic Safety Commission(WTSC)is providing funding for Snohomish County law enforcement agencies to participate in the Target Zero Teams project. The goal is to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured by impaired drivers in Snohomish County by deploying DUI patrols at times and locations where data indicates that the most safety benefit can be realized. The Everett Police Department was allocated $12,000 to participate in this project. Council authorized the Mayor to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the WTSC at the October 3,2012, Council meeting for this allocation. The grant provides assistance in addressing an important issue of the City's 2015 comprehensive plan update. The study will include a land capacity analysis;evaluation of development regulations and comprehensive plan policies;and analysis and recommendations of alternative methods of accommodating forecast growth in the City. Council authorized the Mayor to execute the Washington State Department of Commerce contract for this competitive grant at the October 3,2012,Council meeting.
