This resolution authorizes the Mayor to direct City staff to compromise and settle all reasonable claims arising from the storm events. In particular,this authorization allows payments, in accordance with the City's claims adjustment processes,of all reasonable and documented costs associated with the clean-up and repair of property physically damaged by water from the City's sewer and stormwater system during the storm events. City staff currently estimate the cost of this resolution to be approximately$3,000,000. However,this estimate may increase. This amendment is necessary to provide additional budget authority to pay the storm claims. If all claims are not paid by year-end, unspent funds will be included in the 2014 re-appropriation request.
