WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of all elected officials to do everything possible <br /> to advance economic development, job generation and retention for the future <br /> viability of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, commercial aviation at Paine Field will reaffirm and strengthen the <br /> region's long-standing national and international reputation as the center of <br /> excellence for commercial aerospace, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND EVERETT CITY <br /> COUNCIL THAT: <br /> 1. The City of Everett accepts the findings of the Thomas/Lane and <br /> Associates' Feasibility and Impacts of Scheduled Commercial Air <br /> Service at Paine Field Study and supports scheduled commercial air <br /> service at Paine Field. <br /> 2. The City staff is further directed to pursue all reasonable efforts to <br /> encourage and facilitate the development of commercial aviation at <br /> Paine Field. <br /> 3.
