31. A portable fire extinguisher with a minimum UL rating of 2A must provided <br /> with 75' travel distance, on each floor, of all portions of each building <br /> during construction. <br /> Portable fire protection must be provided throughouz the building as <br /> required by Article 10 of the Uniform Fire Code prSor to issuance of any <br /> Certificate of Occupancy. <br /> 32. All requ3red access roads and fire hydrants must be in service prior to <br /> commencement of construction. <br /> 33. Fire safety practices during construction must be in compliance with <br /> Article 87 of the Uniform Fire Code. <br /> 34. The City of E�erett prohibits outdoor burning. Therefore, no fires for <br /> the purpose of disposing of construction debris will be allowed. <br /> 35. When a�cess to or withi:+ a structure or an area is unduly difficult <br /> because of secured openings or where immediate access is necessary for <br /> life saving or fire-fighting purposes, the Fire Department may recommend <br /> or require a key boa to be installed in an accessible location. A rapi.; <br /> entry system may also be desirable in order to avoid unnecessary damage <br /> while making entry to any building during an eoergency situation. <br /> Please call (206) 259-8726 for further information. <br /> 36. In order to comply with the requirement of Chapter 9 of the Uniform <br /> Building Code aad Article 80 of the Uniform Fire Code, please include with <br /> your application for building permit the following: <br /> A. A hazardous materials inventory atatement. <br /> B. The appropriate material safety data sheets (MSDS) for the projects <br /> listed in the iaventory statement. <br /> A sample of an appropriate inventory etatement is attached to these <br /> co�ents. The inventory statement is part of an overall hazardous <br /> materials plan that should be completed and submitted to the Fire Chief as <br /> soon as possible after occupancy. <br /> Storage, use and handling of specified amounts of hazardous materials also � <br /> require that Fire Departmeat permits be obtaiaed. Please call 259-8726 <br /> for more complete information. � <br /> 37. The Washington State Clean Air Act requires the use of all kaown, <br /> available, and reasonable means of controlling air pollutlon, incl�iding <br /> dust. Dust generated during construction activities can be controlled by <br /> wetting those duet sources such as areas of eaposed soils, washing rruck <br /> wheela before they leave the site, and installing and maintaining gravel <br /> constructioa entrances. Construction vehicle traekroui is also a major ! <br /> dust source. Any evidence of trackrout can tiiggQr violations and fines <br /> from the Department of Ecology or the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control <br /> Agency. <br /> -18- <br />
