It looks like we will be able to allow use of the Tyco RSV-1 in this particular retrofit
scenario. After reviewing with our backflow prevention specialist, we would require that the DCVA be located directly
after (downstream of) the Fire Sprinkler Port on the RSV-1 rather than after the main control valve as shown in Figure 1
of the documentation. This would provide proper cross-connection protection of the domestic side of the system from
the fire sprinkler system. Could you please verify with the manufacturer that they will certify the RSV-1 for use in this
configuration?
Thanks again, and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Paul McKee
Permit Services Manager
City of Everett
3200 Cedar Street
Everett, WA 98201
425-257-8867p
425-257-8857f
From: Meg Haley
Sent: Thursday, October 08, 2015 2:12 PM
To: 'Ken Robinson-Elmslie'
Cc: Paul McKee
Subject: RE: 2922 Hoyt Ave
Sure Ken,
Please feel free to contact Paul about this, directly, since it is a Public Works plan review issue. I copied Paul on this e-
mail.
Thanks so much again Ken for contacting us before the submittal so that we can review options.
Best,
Meg
From: Ken Robinson-Elmslie [mailto:infoCarqifire.com]
Sent: Thursday, October 08, 2015 2:07 PM
To: Meg Haley
Subject: RE: 2922 Hoyt Ave
M eg,
Paul did call me and asked if I would go ahead and do calculations to see if the existing water supply would even
work. I've done the calcs and when the domestic use is factored in, it doesn't work. There is, however, an automatic
1 /
!
