WHEREAS, the appropriate environmental review will be performed on the strategic <br /> master plan and its proposed capital improvement program to make the strategic master <br /> plan eligible for adoption as the Department's comprehensive plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the strategic master plan was made available in February, 2007 as a draft, <br /> for review by the public; and <br /> WHEREAS, the draft strategic master plan was presented at three scheduled public <br /> meetings, the Everett's Council of Neighborhoods, Everett's Planning Commission, <br /> various Neighborhood Association meetings, the plan's steering committee and the <br /> Everett's Parks Board of Commissioners; and <br /> WHEREAS, the draft strategic master plan's public review process identified strong <br /> support for its adoption by the City Council; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Everett City Council: <br /> 1) Hereby adopts the Parks and Recreation Department's Strategic Master Plan <br /> which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br /> 2) The Strategic Master Plan shall be known as "Positioning Parks and Recreation <br /> for the Future." <br /> 3) The Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Parks Board of <br /> Commissioners, shall develop and recommend a series of projects for Administration <br /> and City Council approval that will constitute the department's capital improvement <br /> program. <br /> i.��. <br /> Councilperso I troducing Resolution <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED this 21st day of March , 2007 <br /> ncil P +en <br /> 2 <br />
