c. Credits toward satisfying the total recreational impact of a multiple-family <br /> development can be earned by providing recreational facilities in accordance with <br /> the standards contained in the following table: <br /> Type of Recreational Facility Credits <br /> Minimum Maximum <br /> 1. Tot-children's play apparatus .25 acre .50 acre <br /> 2. Hard surface game court .25 acre .75 acre <br /> 3. Outdoor swimming pool .75 acre 2.0 acres <br /> 4. Indoor swimming pool 2.0 acres 4.0 acres <br /> 5. Indoor sports courts .50 acre 1.5 acres <br /> 6. Weight/fitness facility .25 acre .75 acre <br /> 7. Indoor recreation center .5 acre 1.5 acres <br /> 8. Family picnic area .25 acre .50 acre <br /> 9. Landscaped park-like area .25 acre .75 acre <br /> 10. Waterfront amenities .5 acre 2.0 acres <br /> (docks, piers, benches) <br /> 11. Spa/health facilities .25 acre .25 acre <br /> d. Other amenities not listed in the table may be provided and given credit for <br /> satisfying recreational impact, if approved by the parks department. <br /> 2. The planning department may approve a plan for on-site recreational facilities for <br /> a multiple-family development, which satisfies its recreation impacts, after receiving a <br /> recommendation from the parks and recreational department that the proposed plan for <br /> on-site recreational facilities meets the criteria outlined in this section and the standards <br /> of the parks and recreation plan or design manuals adopted by city council resolution for <br /> use in determining adequate recreational facility standards. In evaluating the proposed <br /> plan,the parks and recreation department shall consider the following factors in <br /> determining the adequacy of the proposed facilities in meeting the development's <br /> recreational impact: <br /> a. Size of recreational facility; <br /> b. Type and quality of recreational facility proposed; <br /> c. Location of facility within the proposed development that will facilitate and <br /> encourage maximum use by the residents of the development; <br /> d. Orientation of facility to prospective residents of development(adults, families, <br /> senior citizens, etc.); <br /> e. Linkage of facilities with other recreational facilities, either on-site or off-site: <br /> f. Capability of facility for year round use; <br /> g. Proximity to other off-site recreational facilities which are available to and likely <br /> to be used by residents of the proposed development. <br /> 20 <br />
