The permit application cannot be reviewed for corrections until the following items are
submitted.
Please submit two sets of revised plans and details with a response letter to each item in this letter, indicating
how it is resolved on the plan set.
General:
1. Since the building is larger than 4000 square feet, and the revisions affect life safery and structural
systems, architectural revisions are required for this tenant improvement permit, and those drawings
should be stamped by a licensed architect, per RCW 18.08.410 (7).
2. To indicate what is being proposed as new workon this permit, please revise the drawings as follows:
a. Please indicate new work with dark lines. Existing work should be indicated as light lines,
and demolition work should be indicated with dashed lines. This includes ceilings, wall sections,
doors, stairs, ramps, structure, and toilet rooms, and any other revision where a building permit
is required, per IBC section 105.1.
b. New walls should be targeted on the plans to detailed wall sections.
3. The area of new work should be identified with a scoping bubble on the overall floor plan.
a. Work not included should be omitted from drawings, if it not part of the current scope of new
work. Historical drawings that indicate "as-is" construction, prior to the tenant improvement,
should not be included in the permit set.
b. Work included on this permit should have room numbers, room names, door numbers, and
wall targets on the drawings for easier reference.
c. The architectural drawings submitted are dated 1979, which show areas of work as existing
that have already been shown as demolished on the recent permit B1305-024.
Structural:
1. Based on the assembly occupant load, the lateral design of the floor replacement for an increased load
should be shown to meet the requirements for occupancy category III, per IBC 1604. Structural
components of the load path must be detailed and included in the construction documents.
