r
CITY OF EVERETT EXHIBIT A-2 ADDENDUM TO SCOPE OF WORK J
Exhibit A-2
Addendum to Scope of Work
Final Design Modifications
South Effluent Pump Station & Crosstown Pipeline
Everett, Washington
Introduction
Modifications to the Final Design scope and budget are necessary due to a variety of
reasons:
1. City staff has requested an evaluation of alternatives for the electrical equipment
enclosure at the pump station. Three alternatives will be considered: installing the
electrical equipment in a separate building, installing the equipment in a building as
part of the pump station, and installing the equipment in appropriate NEMA rated
enclosures for outdoor service.
2. Design of the pump station progressed to the 30 percent stage assuming that the pump
station will be a separate,stand-alone, structure. Due to the higher than anticipated
costs for the separate structure, the City has requested re-evaluation of the Alternative
#4 layout as presented in the Alternatives Evaluation Report dated October 2001. The
Alternative#4 layout shows pumps installed within the existing Chlorine Contact
Channel (CCC). This alternative avoids the need to drive piles, excavate a wet well, and
construct a separate concrete structure. The City Building Department has stated that
they will not require the existing CCC to be revised to meet the requirements of the 1997
Uniform Building Code. A letter from the City Building Department dated August 15,
2002 is included as Attachment 1.
3. City staff has requested that an alternative pipeline alignment be evaluated on the west
side of Everett. The alternative alignment would follow Grand Ave and 26th Street
rather than West Marine View Drive. Although the alternative route is longer than the
route along West Marine View Drive, the alternative route would have less impact on
traffic.
4. City staff has requested evaluation of the existing river diffuser capacity.
5. During inspection of the existing river crossing, damage to a CSO manhole adjacent to
the river was noted. Repairs to the riprap adjacent to the river are also required. The
design effort will include preparation of drawings showing how the manhole and riprap
will be repaired. The specifications and cost estimate will include these additional work
items.
J r'
EXHIBIT A-2 REVISED SEPT 20.DOC 1 OF 5
