r" <br /> 1 `i <br /> 2. Term of Agreement <br /> The terms of this agreement shall govern services between January 1, 2003 and <br /> December 31, 2005, unless sooner terminated as provided herein; provided it is filed for <br /> recording with the Snohomish County Auditor, per RCW39.34.040, after execution by <br /> both parties. <br /> 3. Compensation <br /> 3.1 Within thirty days of receiving an invoice or statement from the City, the <br /> County will pay the City the sum of Forty-five and 00/100 Dollars ($45.00) per animal <br /> impounded according to the terms of this agreement for maintenance and operations costs <br /> and Fifteen and 00/100 Dollars ($15.00) per animal for capital facility recovery charges. <br /> Beginning January 1, 2004, and then on January 1 of each succeeding year for the <br /> duration of this agreement, the amount paid to the City for the performance of this <br /> agreement during the previous year will be increased by the lesser of three percent or the <br /> Consumer Price Index (CPI-U, June 2003 for the 2004 increase, e.g.) calculated by using <br /> all urban wages in the Seattle/Tacoma/Bremerton area. <br /> 3.2 The City shall submit properly executed quarterly invoices for the County's <br /> payment. Said invoices shall indicate the total number of animals handled during the <br /> quarter, the County's number thereof, and their disposition. Each invoice shall be <br /> accompanied by a list that covers the same period of time as the invoice, showing the <br /> name, address, and zip code of the county resident or the name and title of the County <br /> employee that corresponds to each animal attributed to the County in the invoice. The <br /> City shall not bill the County for any animal delivered by a person who cannot provide <br /> proof that the person is either a County resident or that the person is performing their <br /> official duty as a County employee. The County shall not be billed for any animal <br /> otherwise acquired by the City. <br /> 4.
