It <br /> h. Design elevation of MH #2 was 1 foot above finished roadway grade and <br /> had to be adjusted. <br /> i. Installed new irrigation water service at Maggie's Park. <br /> j. Installed traffic rated meter boxes, not included in the contract drawings, <br /> per the direction of the City of Everett. <br /> k. Redesigned 12-inch storm sewer due to unmarked Verizon manhole and <br /> raised unmarked Verizon manhole. <br /> I. Redesign required resurvey and restaking of all structures. <br /> Cost $34,642.80 <br /> 8. The amount of additional work required to install utilities on Terminal Avenue, <br /> Federal Avenue, and California Street made it impossible for the work to be <br /> performed within the originally planned time frame. The contract Special <br /> Provisions allowed for an uninterupted closure of these three streets for a <br /> period of four days. Truck access to the port, the log yard, and Kimberly <br /> Clark's south entrance would have been interrupted for the duration of the <br /> closure. The work actually required 21 working days. The added work was <br /> due to: <br /> a. Changes in the design of the water main. <br /> b. Relocation of fire hydrants and fire hydrant piping due to conflict with <br /> existing utilities. <br /> c. Major redesign of the drainage system. <br /> d. Artesian water conditions encountered beneath the existing roadway <br /> during excavation for storm sewer. <br /> e. The extension of retaining wall B. <br /> In order to install the new utilities and simultaneously keep the city streets <br /> open to traffic, the contractor widened the streets and diverted traffic away <br /> from the work areas. The additional costs were for excavation, paving and <br /> channelization required to temporarily divert the traffic during the work and <br /> removal of unneeded pavement at the completion of the work. <br /> Cost $20,503.25 <br /> Total Change Order No. 3 Costs $130,729.89 <br /> Exhibit A <br /> is <br />
