- 4 <br /> CITY OF EVERETT <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 03-1 <br /> A Resolution of the Everett Planning Commission recommending the <br /> City Council conditionally set an Initial <br /> Population and Employment Target for the City to be provided to <br /> Snohomish County Tomorrow <br /> WHEREAS the City of Everett has been formally invited by Snohomish County Tomorrow to <br /> participate in the jurisdictional review of the draft initial 2025 population and employment growth <br /> targets for Everett and the other cities of Snohomish County and, <br /> WHEREAS the City of Everett has been asked to select an estimate of population and <br /> employment the City can accommodate through 2025 and, <br /> WHEREAS the City of Everett has been further asked what"reasonable measures" it might <br /> adopt and implement to reach those targets and, <br /> WHEREAS the new initial growth targets will eventually replace the 2012 growth targets <br /> currently contained in Appendix B of the Countywide Planning Polices (CPPs) and, <br /> WHEREAS the City of Everett will develop final growth target numbers as a part of the City of <br /> Everett's Growth Management Act Comprehensive Plan. <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds: <br /> 1. The 2025-population estimate range Everett is asked to consider accepting is 123,060 to <br /> 139,510 persons. <br /> 2. Current additional population total holding capacity in Everett as of 2012, according to <br /> the latest Buildable Lands Report is 111,873, indicating a capacity deficit of 11,187 to <br /> 27,637. <br /> 1 <br />
