"Hotel" means a building held out to the public to be an inn, hotel or public <br /> lodging house or place where sleeping accommodations, are used, rented, or hired out to be <br /> occupied, or which are occupied for sleeping purposes by guests. <br /> C. "Lodging unit" means one self-contained unit designated by number, letter or <br /> some other method of identification. <br /> D. "Motel"means a group of buildings containing individual sleeping or living units, <br /> designed for use by automobile tourist or transients, with garage attached or parking space <br /> conveniently located to each unit. <br /> E. "Calls for service" means any incident, reported concern, or suspicious activity <br /> that requires a response from the Everett Police Department. "Calls for service" shall not be <br /> counted when the Everett Police Department receives a call from a hotel/motel reporting an <br /> incident that did not directly occur at that hotel/motel. <br /> F. "Person" means individual, firm, partnership, corporation, company, association <br /> or joint stock association, and the legal successor thereof. <br /> Section 3. Repealer. Chapter 25, Section 2 of Ordinance No. 295-74 (EMC 5.100.020)is <br /> hereby repealed. <br /> Section 4. Chapter 25, Section 3 of Ordinance No. 295-74 (EMC 5.100.030) which reads as <br /> follows: <br /> License required. <br /> No person,firm or corporation shall keep, conduct, maintain, manage or operate or cause to be <br /> conducted, managed, maintained or operated either as owner,lessee, manager or agent, or in any <br /> other capacity, any hotel, rooming house,lodging house,apartment house or tenement house as <br /> herein defined, where lodgings are furnished to guests within the city without first having <br /> obtained from the city clerk of the city a license so to do. <br /> Be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> License required. <br /> A. It is unlawful for any person to keep,conduct, maintain, manage or operate or <br /> cause to be conducted, managed, maintained or operated either as owner, lessee, manager or <br /> agent,or in any other capacity overnight lodging without first obtaining a license,hereinafter <br /> referred to as an"overnight lodging license," to do so from the city clerk of the city pursuant to <br /> the provisions of this chapter. <br /> 3 <br /> 5 <br />
