OTECHNICAL ENGINEERING Sl Y
PROPOSED INDUSTRIAL FACILITY
SEAWAY TRACT 1, LOT 5
MERRII.L CREEK PARKWAY
EVERETT, WASHINGTON
E-3592-520
INTRODUCTION
General
This report presents the results of the geotechnical engineering study for the proposed
Industrial Facility at Seaway Tract 1, Lot 5, south of Merrill Creek Parkway in Everett,
Washington. The general location of the site is shown on the Vicinity Map, Plate 1. The
purpose of this study was to explore the subsurface conditions at the site, and based on the
conditions encountered to provide specific geotechnica[ recammendations for the proposed
development.
ECI previously prepared a visual site reconnaissance for the Seaway Tracts 1, 2 and 3 and a
geotechnical engineering study for the Synsor building now located approximately six hundred
(600) feet south of the proposed subject property. During mass grading of the Seaway site
in the summer of 1996, we monitored the earthwork aperations on a full-time basis.
At the time our study was prepared, the site, the proposed building focation and our
exploratory locations were approximately as shown on Plate 2, Test Pit Location plan.
Project Description
We understand it is planned to develop the site with a single story warehouse or light-
manufacturing facility. The proposed building will have an approximate footprint of 21,800
square feet and will be of concrete tilt-up design with slab-on-grade floors.
Based on our experience with this type of construction, we anticipate wall Ioads will be on
the order of four to six kips per lineal foot, column loads of eighty (80) to one hundred twenty
(120) kips and slab-on-grade floor loads of about two hundred fifty (250) pounds per sguare
foot.
If the above design criteria are incorrect or change, we should be consulted to review the
recommendations contained in this report. In any case, ECI should be retained to perform a
general review of the final design.
Earth Consultante, Inc.
