Exhibit "A" <br /> Scope of Services, Time of Performance, Budget, Payment, <br /> Notices, Representatives, and Special Conditions (if any) <br /> I. Scope of Service <br /> A. Activities/Project Description <br /> The Contractor will be responsible for administering the College of Hope program in a manner <br /> satisfactory to the City and consistent with any standards required as a condition of providing <br /> these funds. Such program will include the following activities eligible under the Community <br /> Development Block Grant Program: <br /> Program Delivery <br /> Activity: <br /> The College of Hope <br /> The College of Hope has been under development as a pilot project and is now entering full implementation. Toward <br /> this end, Housing Hope is constructing a new 3000 square foot learning center with the help of The Bill and Melinda <br /> Gates Foundation,the Murdock Charitable Trust, and the Paul Allen Foundation. <br /> A College of Hope curriculum structure has been designed to build assets for homeless families who seek new skills, <br /> education and employment that will support addressing circumstances that cause homelessness. Four agencies, <br /> known as the Partnership Opportunity Project(POP), are providing their particular expertise to frame curriculum <br /> development in four FOCUS areas: <br /> • Housing self-sufficiency Housing Hope <br /> • Health and Wellness Community Health Center <br /> • Economic Well Being Operation Improvement YWCA <br /> • Family Life Deaconess Children's Service <br /> The POP Partners, under the leadership of the College of Hope Coordinator,are creating an integrated service <br /> delivery program of targeted learning for residents of Housing Hope and other shelter and transitional housing <br /> providers in our community. Focusing on the prevention and root causes of homelessness will enable families to <br /> acquire the knowledge and the practical skills they need to reach and maintain self-sufficiency. <br /> Technical and life-skills development in four primary areas have been developed. Course offerings include 4 FOCUS <br /> Classes: <br /> 1. Landlord/Tenant Law <br /> 2. Money Management <br /> 3. Nutrition On A Limited Budget <br /> 4. Parenting(Birth-to-5 and 5-to-10) <br /> A College of Hope learning opportunity entitled "Exploring the Vocations" has also been developed to assist <br /> employable adults with short-term targeted trainings that support identifying vocational aspirations together with an <br /> increased possibility of family-supportive wage employment once employment is attained. <br /> B-1 iU <br />
