• <br /> 3 <br /> [Complete description of activity to be undertaken including what projects, products or services G. <br /> to be performed, where they are to be provided, for whom they are to be provided, how they are to <br /> be provided] <br /> Currently, College of Hope FOCUS and ELECTIVE classes occur at two locations- Housing Hope Village in Everett <br /> and the Beachwood facility in Marysville. Beginning January 2004, College of Hope Classes offered in Everett will <br /> occur in the newly completed Building Hope Learning Center as a part of the Housing Hope Village expansion project. <br /> All College of Hope classes are targeted to meet the learning needs of Housing Hope residents, residents of partner <br /> housing providers, and low-income individuals in the community. Classes are provided in an interactive environment, <br /> with childcare and transportation provided, as well as dinner or a snack, and homework help when indicated. <br /> FOCUS CLASSES scheduled between August 1, 2003 and May 31, 2004 are: <br /> • PARENTING: <br /> - Parenting Birth to 5=Two 4-week class offerings scheduled <br /> - Parenting 5 to 10 =Two 4-week class offerings scheduled <br /> • HEALTH AND WELLNESS: <br /> - Maintaining Your Family's Health =Two 4-week class offerings scheduled <br /> • HOUSING EXPERTISE: <br /> - Landlord-Tenant Relationship and Law=Three 2-week class offerings scheduled <br /> • ECONOMIC WELL BEING: <br /> - Money Management=two 4-week class offerings scheduled, with an additional two in development. <br /> A total of 38 FOCUS class offerings are scheduled to occur between August 1, 2003 and May 31, 2004. <br /> Outcomes: <br /> 1. 80 Housing Hope residents and low-income individuals will participate in College of Hope FOCUS classes during <br /> the abbreviated program year. <br /> 2. 80%of participants will demonstrate, based on pre-and post assessment, an increase in both skills and <br /> knowledge as a result of participation on College of Hope FOCUS Classes. <br /> 3. 75%of Housing Hope residents will participate in 2 or more FOCUS learning opportunities during their residency. <br /> ELECTIVE CLASSES scheduled between August 1, 2003 and May 31, 2004 are: <br /> • PARENTING: <br /> Parents of Teens = One 4-week series is scheduled <br /> • HEALTH AND WELLNESS: <br /> - Personal Safety= Offering is site-specific and will occur 5 times during the program year. <br /> - Nutrition on a Limited Budget=One 6-week series is scheduled. <br /> - 1st Aid/CPR=offered annually. <br /> • HOUSING EXPERTISE: <br /> - Home Fire Prevention and Safety = Offering is site-specific and will occur 5 times during the program year. <br /> • ECONOMIC WELL BEING: <br /> - Vocational-Technical Workshop= Four single class offerings are scheduled. <br /> A total of 17 ELECTIVE class offerings are scheduled to occur between August 1, 2003 and May 31, 2004. <br /> Outcomes: <br /> 1. 60 Housing Hope residents and low-income individuals will participate in College of Hope ELECTIVE classes during <br /> the abbreviated program year, and an additional 20 residents and individuals who have not participated in a <br /> FOCUS Class offering will also participate in at least one ELECTIVE Class offering. <br /> 2. 80%of participants will demonstrate, based on pre-and post assessment, an increase in both skills and <br /> knowledge as a result of participation on College of Hope ELECTIVE Classes. <br /> B-2 <br /> I <br />
