ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> m. This designation is applied to areas presently developed with predominantly <br /> single family detached dwellings. Other dwelling types will be allowed under <br /> certain circumstances, such as duplexes, single family attached, or rear-yard infill <br /> dwellings." (Page LU-64, V. LAND USE MAP, D. Land Use Designations <br /> — Locational Criteria. 1. Single Family Detached Residential) This Plan <br /> accomplishes the goals stated here. <br /> n. "Encourage innovative design and development standards to encourage new <br /> approaches to affordable housing." "Encourage a broad range of housing <br /> opportunities in neighborhoods through creative use of zoning, design standards <br /> and other innovative tools. ... Encourage housing forms that retain traditional <br /> neighborhood forms, while increasing density (i.e. duplex bungalows, narrow lots, <br /> etc.) (Housing Element: page h-11 III E, Everett Vision 2000, <br /> Goals/Actions) This Plan accomplishes the goals stated here. <br /> o. "The City shall consider changes to the Land Use map designations and the <br /> Policies of the Land Use Element as needed to provide for a wide range of housing <br /> types in each planning sub-area and to accommodate the projected population and <br /> household income levels for the entire Everett Planning Area. (Page H-19, V. <br /> HOUSING ELEMENT- GOAL, OBJECTIVES AND POLICIES, E <br /> Objectives and Policies, Policy 1.1.1) This Plan accomplishes the goals <br /> stated here. <br /> p. The City shall promote housing alternatives to the large lot single family detached <br /> dwelling and large apartment complexes." (Page H-19, V. HOUSING <br /> ELEMENT- GOAL, OBJECTIVES AND POLICIES, E Objectives and <br /> Policies, Policy 1.1.2) This Plan accomplishes the goals stated here. <br /> q. "The City shall evaluate existing land use regulations to identify measures which <br /> could increase the supply of affordable housing throughout the entire Everett <br /> Planning Area. Examples of potential code revisions include smaller single <br /> family lot sizes, more liberal allowance of duplexes and single family attached <br /> dwellings, rear yard infill dwellings as appropriate."( Page H-21 HOUSING <br /> ELEMENT- GOAL, OBJECTIVES AND POLICIES, E Objectives and <br /> Policies, 1.3.3) This Plan accomplishes the goals stated here. <br /> r. In order to maximize the public investment which has already been made in <br /> public infrastructure, the City shall support the compact land use strategy of the <br /> comprehensive plan with housing measures that increase the residential density of <br /> the Everett Planning Area and which maintain the quality and character of <br /> existing neighborhoods."
