CITY OF EVERETT <br /> CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 5659 <br /> A Resolution of the Everett City Council expressing support <br /> for the Everett Housing Authority <br /> redevelopment master plan for the Baker Heights Community <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett has been approached by the Everett Housing Authority in regards to the <br /> redevelopment of the Baker Heights Community, and <br /> WHEREAS, creating a new and positive image for the Baker Heights Community through the design of <br /> a highly attractive, well built, and mixed income community will be an important redevelopment effort, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett Housing Authority has worked with the community, tenants,and neighborhood <br /> to develop the Baker Heights redevelopment plan, and <br /> WHEREAS,the Baker Heights Master Plan will provide affordable for-sale housing which will give <br /> opportunities for low and moderate income families to purchase homes, and <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett Housing Authority plans to insure the existing families are affordably and safely <br /> housed after the redevelopment either on or off site, and <br /> WHEREAS,the Everett City Council finds: <br /> 1. The redevelopment of Baker Heights would be an improvement to the Delta Neighborhood and <br /> the northern part of Everett. <br /> 2. The goals of the Everett Housing Authority to create an improved neighborhood <br /> character, provide a variety of housing choices including market rate for sale housing, <br /> and the integration of rental and ownership opportunities are very worthwhile. <br /> 3. The Everett Housing Authority should be commended on their participatory efforts and vision for <br /> the redevelopment of the Baker Heights Community. <br /> 1 <br />
