Although many films have won awards, they are not readily available through <br /> movie theaters and video outlets. Goals include promoting the local community as well as <br /> making cinema more accessible. Funds will assist with rental costs for the Historic Everett <br /> Theatre. <br /> Northwest Savoyards 100 $3,075 $1,000 $450 <br /> Debut Family Theater Winter Workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to provide <br /> instruction in all aspects of musical theater to children. Hands-on learning will include how to <br /> prepare for a successful audition: basic vocal production, basic acting including terminology <br /> and character development, and basic technical production. Attendees perform for friends and <br /> family, and perform a scripted, age-appropriate musical for the public. Each child will receive <br /> file beginning basics of musical theater upon which to build. Funds will paying for <br /> ..y,,.,,...� assist with �v� <br /> Director, Assistant Director, Accompanist, and Producer fees. <br /> Olympic Ballet Theatre 1,100 $68,750 $1 ,500 $1,200 <br /> 2004 Season at the Everett Performing Arts Center. "Peter & the Wolf' is the musical tale <br /> by Prokofiev, introducing children to the instruments of the orchestra. "Madeline and the Bad <br /> Hat at the Circus", set to Gabriel Faure's "Dolly Suite," is the creation of Artistic Director John <br /> Wilkins and is based upon Madeline of children's storybook fame. A lecture/will introduce <br /> young audiences to elements of theatre and dance, lighting, props, sets and ballet technique. <br /> School day matinees are scheduled in addition to regular shows, encouraging school groups to <br /> attend. Funds will be used to pay promotional and artistic expenses. <br /> Snohomish Artist Guild 15,000 $45,500 $4,000 $500 <br /> Pop & Arts Street Festival — Children's Program <br /> The children's program has two components: <br /> Building Everett has children creating buildings, houses, boats, trains and cars out of play <br /> dough on a map of Everett that is painted on a 4' x 8' piece of plywood. Children work <br /> together to build our community from scratch and watch it take shape with the help of each <br /> other. <br /> Make-it and Take-it is designed for more unstructured play that is also essential to a child's <br /> growth. Kids make creative masks with straws, feathers, streamers, glitter, glue and other <br /> materials. All activities are free of charge to the public and help children realize the value of <br /> community contribution and connection to others.
