u i 1 rJLl' C VCt I tc� ( bDki1 TO:8E93 <br /> The County will neither make adjustments in number of staff assigned to the combined <br /> Evidence Control Unit, nor cause a budgetary impact to the combined Evidence Control <br /> Unit's operation in excess of$5,000 without first consulting with the appropriate officers <br /> of the City. The County shall make no adjustment or cause any budgetary impact during <br /> the 30 day period following the last consultation on such matters with the City. <br /> 5. Reimbursement of Start U_p Costs <br /> Beginning January 1, 1995, the amount to be paid by each party shall be adjusted up or <br /> down as determined in Goal #2 above to offset any disparity in the value of initial assets <br /> contributed by each party. <br /> If one party provided an initial surplus, as determined by Goal #2 above, that party's <br /> payment shall be reduced by one-half the surplus amount on April 1, 1995, and the <br /> i ewaining one-half of the surplus shall <br /> be used to reduce the party's October 1, 1995 <br /> payment. <br /> If the original surplus amount established by Goal #2 above exceeds $25,000.00, the <br /> parties may agree to adjust the semi-annual payments to recover the surplus over a longer <br /> period of time; Provided, full compensation for any surplus shall be paid not later than <br /> April I, 1998. <br /> 6. Personnel <br /> The three existing City employees directly assigned to the City's Evidence Control Unit at <br /> the time this agreement becomes effective will be transferred to the County in accordance <br /> with RCW 41.14.250, 41.14.260, 41.14.270, and the following: <br /> a. The Sheriffs Office will employ up to three Everett Evidence Control Unit <br /> personnel as Sheriffs Office Evidence Control Unit Technicians giving full credit <br /> for seniority just as if the time they served with the City had been served with the <br /> County. <br /> b. The Sheriffs Office will not require any pre-employment screening as a condition <br /> of County employment provided the City transfers to the County each of the three <br /> employee's personnel record. The County makes this accommodation on a one <br /> time basis and the City agrees it shall not be binding upon the County in any future <br /> personnel transfers. <br /> 1g <br /> City-County Consolidated Evidence Facility Contract Page 4 <br />
