Implemented in September 1999,the Agreement established the"Puget Pass"program as the region's initial effort to provide a seamless fare media among and between the public transit providers in the Sound Transit service area. The interim agreement was replaced in January 2002 and expires December 31,2004. The attached agreement extension is effective January 1,2005 and terminates December 31,2005 or sooner if the electronic fare media collection system(Smart Card)is operational before the agreement is scheduled to expire. Amendment number one only extends the original agreement to December 31,2005.
