Implemented in September 1999,the Agreement established the"Puget Pass"program <br /> as the region's initial effort to provide a seamless fare media among and between the public transit providers <br /> in the Sound Transit service area. The interim agreement was replaced in January 2002 and expires <br /> December 31,2004. The attached agreement extension is effective January 1,2005 and terminates <br /> December 31,2005 or sooner if the electronic fare media collection system(Smart Card)is operational <br /> before the agreement is scheduled to expire. Amendment number one only extends the original agreement to <br /> December 31,2005. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment No. 1 to the Regional Pass Fare <br /> Reconciliation Agreement extending the Agreement to December 31, 2005 <br /> GR1NA1/110804 Regional Pass Fare Reconciliation Agreement Amendment I � <br />
