The <br /> Boeing Company has applied to have its 7E7 program facilities within the City of Everett designated as an <br /> industrial project of statewide significance. RCW 43.157.030 requires that such applications "must be <br /> accompanied by a letter of approval from the legislative authority of any jurisdiction that will have the <br /> proposed industrial project of statewide significance within its boundaries" and that "The letter of approval <br /> must state that the jurisdiction joins in the request for the designation of the project as one of statewide <br /> significance and has or will hire the professional staff that will be required to expedite the processes <br /> necessary to the completion of an industrial project of statewide significance." 7E7 program components <br /> within the City of Everett include assembly facilities at the Boeing plant in southwest Everett, and the <br /> proposed rail barge pier. There may be other related improvements proposed in the City, such as cargo <br /> handling facilities at the Port of Everett. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Adopt Resolution designating the Boeing <br /> Company 7E7 program components within the City of Everett as an industrial projects of statewide <br /> significance. <br /> 29 <br />
