PLANNING DIRECTOR DECISION <br />SPECIAL PROPERTY USE #99-014 <br />Review Process II <br />Applicant: Nextel Communications c/o George Johnston <br />19330 2id Ave NW <br />Shoreline, WA 98177 <br />Project Location: 6107 Berkshire Drive (Reservoir N3) <br />Zoning: R-1, Single Family Residential <br />Proposal: The proposed action is the installation of new panel antennas on an existing monopole and a new <br />equipment shelter near the base of the pole. The proposal is subject to the general evaluation criteria listed in <br />Subsection 41.150.0 of the City's Zoning Code as follows: <br />1. The need of the neighborhood, district, or City for a proposed special property use. <br />Findings: The proposed use will provide wireless communication services for emergency service <br />providers, public utilities, maintenance companies, and private users. <br />Conclusions: The proposed use provides a public benefit. <br />2. The adequacy of streets, utilities and public services required to serve a proposed use. <br />Findings: The proposed facility Vil be located on an existing pole. The site is accessed by way of <br />existing public streets and has existing utilities. <br />Conclusions: Adequate provisions for access, utilities and public services for the proposal can be <br />accommodated. <br />3. The impact of traffic generated by the proposed use on the surrounding area, pedestrian <br />. circulation and public safety; and the ability of the proponent to mitigate such potential impacts. <br />Findings: The proposal may generate some minimal traffic noise associated with the initial installation <br />and set-up. However, once the facility is operating no constant on -going traffic will be generated. <br />Conclusions: 'there will be no adverse traffic impacts generated by the proposal. <br />4. The provision of adequate off-street parking, on -site circulation, and site access. <br />Findings: No permanent on -site parking is required for the proposal. <br />Conclusions: Not applicable. <br />
