These comments address building issues only, additional revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the 1994 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1994 Edition, unless stated otherwise. In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of drawings retlecting the corrections requested. NONSTRUCTURAL Occupancy 1. The meeting/class/kitchen room on the second floor is greater than 750 square feet and is therefore classified as an A-3 Occupancy. A-3 Occupancies are not permitted above dte first story in non-fire resistive buildings per Section 302.2.2.2. As the sprinkler system is not required for an increasc in area,the building should be re- classified as a Type III 1-HR buifding with the sprinkler system used for fire-resistive substitution per Section 508. 2.
