We have mviewed the most critical items with the Owner, made <br /> changes to our drawings as appropriate, and submit two complete new sets of drawings herewilh. <br /> Our responses to your comments, arranged in the same order as your letter, are the following: <br /> Non-Structura. �omments: <br /> 1. We have adjusted partition locations and deleted the accordiamfolding door in order to <br /> reduce the area of lhe Second-Ploor Meeting Room to 750 square feeL This should take <br /> it oul of lhe A-3 occupancy classification, and will make later A-3—related comments <br /> moot. <br /> 2. We added S-1 as an occupancy to the code information on A0.2. <br /> Constructiat Comments <br /> 1. We added the requirement for nomcombustible framing members for the parapet add-ons <br /> at the northeast comer of the building and at the wall above the Entry at the south/center <br /> of the building. Noles were added to Details 6, 7, & S on Drawing A7.3. <br /> 2. We added clarification of the requirements for fireblocks per UBC Section 708.1 and <br /> 708.2. Notes were added ro Wall Type Note W3 in the"Assembly Notes/Descriptions" <br /> on Drawing A0.2, upper right portion. <br /> 3. Roof Drainage points are indicated on the Roof Plan, Drawing A2.3. We are directing <br /> the water to through-wall scuppers, colleclins il with conductor boxes, and piping it to an <br /> underground system which connecls to the City sewer. <br /> 4. The exterior sidewalks aiong Grid Line 1 at the soulh side of the building are within 30" <br /> of grade and thus are exempt from the guardrail requirement of UBC 509.1. Elevation 1 <br /> on Drawing A3.1 shows the heights of the low walls here. <br /> 5. Safety glazing is indicated on the Elevations and Door Schedules. On the Elevations, <br /> "SG" indicates "safety glazing". <br /> 6.
