Two braced wall panels are required for the eastem exterior wall facing Broadway. <br /> The construction and location of the walls per Section 2320.113 should be as <br /> follo�vs: <br /> a) The walls should be a minimum of 4 feet wide with no openings (windows or <br /> doors for example)within them. <br /> b) The '/:" plywood sheathing with studs on 16" centers specified in the wall section <br /> is of adequate construction to comply as a braced wall panel. <br /> c) The walis should start not more than 8 feet from the comers of the building. <br /> 4. A 2" x 2" x 3/16" plate washer should be specified on each anc;�or Uolt. Section <br /> 1806.6.1 <br /> Accessibility <br /> 1. The van-accessible pazking space should be shown to be 8' wide, with an adjacent 8' <br /> wide access aisle. Section 1]07.2.2 <br /> 2. The access aisle should be striped or mazked to show that it is not a pazking space. <br /> Section 1107.2.2 <br /> 3. The van-accessible pazking space should be shown as having a sign 3'-5' high, <br /> centered at [he head of the space and bearing the words, " State Disabled Parking <br /> Yermit Required." Section 1107.3 <br /> 4. An accessible path is required between the accessible pazking stall, Broadway street <br /> and the main entrance to the addition. The path should be paved, 36" wide minimum <br /> and not have a slope greater than 1" rise per 20" run. Section 1103.2.2 <br /> 5. An acce,:sible toilet facility is not required at this time. In the future however, a <br /> r-.model of an existing toilet room within the house should be done to current <br /> acr_essibiiity standazds. <br /> Encrgy <br /> 1. A vapor retarder should be shown on the warm side of the exterior wall insulation. <br /> Section 1313 <br /> 2. The 2" x 4" wall studs shown will not allow R-19 insulation, as typical fiberglass � <br /> insulation would be approximately �.5 inches thick. To comply with Section 1311, <br /> one of the following options should be used: <br /> a) The walls should be increased to 2" x 6" studs, or <br /> b) An altemate form of insulatiun should be used (such as closed-cell foam), or <br /> c) The heating should be chang�d from electric resistance to an acceptable <br /> altemative such as natural gas, heat pump,etc. <br />
