The Darigold Company is consolidating their business ar.d <br />have no further use for the building. <br />2. Additional purchase of property for parking would be costly. <br />However, additional parking is possible by lease. <br />3. The building E�as historic value and will remain the same <br />other than.internal improvements. <br />9. Fifty percent of the prooerty is in parking now. <br />Mr. John Collins also spoke in behalf of Consolidated Dairy <br />Products request and added the following: <br />1. The proposed use of the building would be primarily for a <br />restaurant. <br />2. There are several restaurants uptown and in other areas of <br />the City that are providing less parking then is being <br />asked of Consolidated. <br />3. Mr. Collins had spoken to the owner of the drive-in t� the <br />north and to acquire proper.t�� for parking in that area <br />would be costly. <br />9: With proper planning, on thz area that is available, a mini- <br />mum of sixty-six (66) park:�ng spaces could be provided rathe:r <br />than the forty eight (48) as shown on the application. <br />Mr. Bill Tackett and Mr. Larry Foster, re�taurant owners, were <br />against the granting of th� variar.ce for the following reasons: <br />1. All parking requirements had to be met on thei•r buildings <br />so no partiality should be shown to Consolidated. The same <br />rules should apply for all. , <br />2. The reduction from 11B to 48 parking stalls is more t.han <br />fifty (50) percent less parking than the Ordinan.�e requires. <br />This is too much to ask for. <br />There was no further comments from the audience. <br />.� <br />�1 <br />---.,-�. <br />
