PROJECT MONITORING ANa MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br />Requirements for monitoring project: <br />1. Initial compliance report <br />2. Semi-annual site inspections (spring and fall) for five years <br />3. Annual reports (one report submitted in the fall of each monitored year) <br />The purpose for monitoring this project shall be to evaluate its success. Success will be <br />determined if monitoring shows at the end of five years tliat the definition of success stated <br />below is met. The property owner(s) shall grant access to the mitigation area(s) for <br />inspection and maintenance to the contracted wetland professional and the city inspector <br />during the period of the bond, or until the project is evaluated as suc�ess(ul. <br />�ortin� Methods: Upon completicn of the proposed mitigation project, an inspection by a <br />qualified wetland professional shail be made to determine plan compliance. A compliance <br />report shall be supplied to the City of Everett within 30 days after the completion of planting. <br />Condition monitoring �f the plantings shall be done by a ceRified wetland profes�ional. A <br />written report describing the monitoring results shall be submitted to the City of Everett after <br />the fall site inspection of each monitored year. Final inspectior will occur five years afier <br />comFletion of the pro;ect. The consulting wetland professional wiil prepare a report as to <br />the success of the project. <br />Definition of Success: The planting area shall sunport at least 80% of the native plants set <br />forth in the approved planting plan by the end of five years. The species mix should <br />resemble that proposed in the plan, but strict adherence to obtaining all of the species shall <br />not be a criteria for success. <br />Mainte_n_ance: The planting areas may require periodic maintenance during the monitoring <br />period. Maintenance may include, but will not be limited to, removal o( competing grasses <br />and invasive vegetation (by hand if necessary), irrigation, replacement of plant mortality. <br />fertilization, and/or the replacement of mulch. Aggressive control of invasive grasses may <br />be required in the restoration areas. Chemical control, if necessary, shall be applied by a <br />licensed applicator or property owner following all label instructions. <br />CONTINf,[NCY PLAN <br />If 20`%o of the installed planis are severcly stressed during any of the inspections, or it <br />appears 20°o may not survive, additiunal plantings o( the same species may be added to the <br />planting areas. Additional contingency elemenls may include, but will not be limited to: <br />more aggressive weed control, animal control, mulching, replanting with larger plant <br />material, species substitution, fertilization, soil amendments, and/or irrigation. <br />Site Analysis 4 WRl JJ11017 <br />Mr. PhJipJazwieck February 11, 2011 <br />
