ADaPT En¢ineerio¢, Inc.
PROJECT DF.SCRIPTION
The host parcel is located at 8215 Droaday in Lverett, Washington. Currcntly, the host site is occupied
I-5 Trailer Sales, Feely Gn:erprises. The proposcd tower lease area is loc: ed at the northeast po:tion of
the host property in an undevelopcd area. The topography of the lease arca slopes in :i : southwest to the
northeast dircction. The ground surface ! the oroposed tower lease is covered by blackberry bushes,
concrete debris, and wood materials. The proposed tower leasc area can be acccssed via a paved
driveway o(f of Broadway. The proposed Icase area abuts a large retaiuing wall for Interstate 5 which is
located east of the site. Wc undcrstand VoiceStream Witeless proposes to construct a monopolc
communication tower and associatcd equipment building or cabinets. Tlie project site and su:-rounding
arca are showm on the attached sitc vicinity map (Location Map, Pigure I). The attached Site and
Exploration Plan (Figure 2) shows the approximate location of ihc proposcd ccllular tower Icasc area in
rclation to other site features.
It should be emphasized that the com:lusions and recommcndations containcd in this report arc based on
our undcrstanding of the currently proposed utilization oC the project sitc, as dcrivcd from writtcn
information supplied to us by VoiccStream Wireless. Consequently, if any changes are made to thc
project, we recomrrend that wc review the changcs and modify our recommcndations, if appropriate, to
re(lectthosc changes.
EXPLORATORY METIiODS
Wc explored surface and subsurface conditions at thc projcct site on April 6 2000. Our surface
exploration consistcd of a visual site reconr.aissance. Our subsurface exploration consisted of advancing
onc suil tcst buring to a dcpth of approximatcly 28.5-fcet below the cxisting site grade. The location of
the boring, designated as II-1, is shom on the attached Sile and Exploration Plan (Figure 2).
The specific locatian and depth of the cxploration performed was selccted in relation to the proposed site
fcawres, under the constraints of budget and sitc acccss. Thc location of thc boring and other features
shown on Pigurc 2 were obtained by hand taping from existing site features. As such, the exploration
location shown on Figure 2 should be considered accuratc to the degree implied by the mcasuring
methods used.
Bor•rng Afelliorls
Doring B-1 was advanced on April 6, 2000 using a mobilc drill rig. 1'he drill rig was operated by an
indepcndent company working undcr subconh•act to ADaPT. A gcotechnical enginecr from our firm
continuously observed the boring, obtained representalivc soil samp]es, and logged the subsurface
conditions. Aftcr the boring was complcted, the borehole was backfilled with a mixture of soil cuttings
and bentonite chips.
VaiceSream Wirdess May I8, 2000
ADaPT Fmjcct No. WA00-0034 P°
