Pagc 3 of 4
occupancy per IBC Table 1016.1) as long as lhe slriping is visible through emergency lighting on battery power back-up to
clearly mark exits, along with additional signage per code, as referenced in the attar, hed letter. As I understand it, this is a
ternporary situation until the phasing oi construction of other tenant areas is complete in the near future.
2. Only the walls and doors that are included in this phase of permitting will be shown; future walls and doors will not be
shown for clarity.
3. The millwork height requirements to meet accessibiliry for work areas is something that we will discuss after you obtain
information regarding design and construction issues.
4. Area caicutations for Business occupancies are based on gross building area, including floor area within perimeter walls
without deductions for corridors, stainvays or closets, exciusive of vent shafts and courts only, as defined in IBC 502.1 and
IBC 1002. Area caiculations for Assembly occupancies (A-3) are based on net iloor area, or ar.tual occupied floor area not
including unoccupied accessory areas such as corridors, toilet rooms, mechanical rooms and closets as defined in IBC
1002.
5. Is there any possibility
that this may be expedited to receive a permit by the end of July or earlier? This is a critical project for the hospital as the Medical
Records department needs to be moved in as soon as possible as they need to be up and running again prior to the Providence
system wide switch over to eiectronic medical record files. If they can't move soon the hospital may need to wait Jan.IFeb
2007 before they can move over. Consideration of this wouid be deepiy appreciated. Thank you.
,,
C I' .
J
