C. Prevent movemertt or settlement of adjacent structures, roads, and railroad. Provide <br /> and install bracing and shoring, as needed. <br /> D. Mark and monitor location of utilities which are to be maintained and protected. <br /> E. Contact the utility companies for bond requirements, if any, prior to bid. <br /> 3.02 DEMOLITION REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Contractor shall cease operatlons immedlately if tho worker or pubiic safety is <br /> compromised or suspected of be(ng compromised. Operallons shall not resume until <br /> worker and public safety has been secured. This shall not be an Owner-caused delay. <br /> B. Contractor shall conduct operations with a minfmum of interterence to the publfc or <br /> private access, and shall provide traffic control and street cleaning services to remove <br /> s(te materials irom public streets. <br /> C. Contractor shall obtain written permission from adjacent property owners five days <br /> before demolition equipment will lransverse, infringe upon, or limit access to their <br /> property. Coordinate a!I requests with the Owner and authorized agents. <br /> D. Contractor shall reference the General Conditfons if hazardous and/or contaminated <br /> soils are encountered during construction. <br /> 3.03 DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES <br /> A. Completely remove and dispose off-site all designated buildings and thefr contents, <br /> excavated material, concrete slabs-on-grade and foundations, steel dock, steel rails, <br /> concrete docks, metal canopfes and screens, and miscellaneous building debiis <br /> throughout the site. All pavements, sidewalks, and curbs designated for removal shall <br /> be broken up, loaded, and disposed af by the Contractor. <br /> B. Care shall be laken in removing the pavement and building walls that damage does not <br /> occur to the exisHng pavement, as noted on the plans. All removals shall be <br /> accomplished by saw cutting neat boundaries of the area to be removed. Adjacent <br /> materials designated to remain that are damaged by the Contractor due to their <br /> operations shall be replaced at no additional cost to the County. <br /> C. Special operations necessary for the removal of an exfst(ng structure shall be subject to <br /> the approval of the Owner and authorized agents. <br /> D. Siructures, utilities, and materials designated to remain which are damaged during <br /> demolitio� activities shall be replaced or repaired at no additional cost to the County. <br /> E. The plans show known utilities and structures on or near the site. The locations, sizes, <br /> and dimensions of these are taken from existing records. Same discrepancies and <br /> omissions may exist, and the Contractor shall expect differing conditions.
