Sectfon 02300 - Earthwork 2. Section 03300 -Cast-in-Place Concrete 3. Section 09800 -Pafnting 1.02 DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. The extent and lacation of the "Soldier Piles" work is indicated on the drawings. The work includes lhe requirementa (or fumishing and installing augered concrete pilea. It also includes reference standards and the applicable provisions of pertinent codes. Data characterizing the soil conditions fs presented in the Geotechnical Report, Proposed Snohomish County SheriN Building (Kleinfelder, January 29, 2001). This report is available from the Owner by request. B. Soils Investigation: The soils investfgation indicatea the location of soil borings. This fnformation on underlying earth strata is to be conoidered as indicatfve of aoil conditlons to be used by the Contractor at his discretion and is not guaranteed as factual. The Contractor shall acquaint himself with the subsurface conditions. 1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Inspectian and Testing 1. The Owner will re!ain the services of a recognized Soils Engineer to ensure pile placement adheres to the contract documenta. 2. The Soils Engineer will provide constructian obaervatfon and geotechnical engineo�ing services during the constructfon of soldier pile work. Soils engi�ieering sevices will include the following: a. ��bservatior� of augered material to verify tho nature of the soils and c'etermination thet pile bottoma are compatible with the specified pile capacity, as indicatF,d on the contract drawings, prior to concrete placement.
