. B. Location of Piles: Lacate pi�es as shown. Pile centers shall be located to an eccuracy <br /> of plus or minus 6 inchea and the pile shall not be out of plumb more than 1 percent of <br /> its lenath. The Contractor shall bear the cost of corcections to bring all misiocated piles <br /> within the specified Iimits. <br /> C. Adjacent piles shall not be located closer than 8 feet on center until concrete grout has <br /> achieved its initial set. <br /> D. Concentrated loads from the pile placing equipment shall be properly distributed to <br /> prevent collapsing the hole as concrete grout Is be(ng injected. <br /> E. Hole drilling for piles shall be done without loss of ground and without endangering <br /> previously installed soldier pile members. Casing or other methods ahall be uaed, <br /> where necessary, to prevent loss of ground and collapse oi hole. <br /> 3.02 PILE PLACEMENT <br /> A. General: When the auger has reached required depths, pump concrete grout into hole <br /> as auger is withdrawn, taking care to prevent hole collapse and to force penetration of <br /> grout into soft or poraus z��ps of surtounding soil. <br /> B. Concrete Grout <br /> 1. Measure all materials by volume as they are ted into the mixer. Measurements <br /> shall be accurate, consistent and properly recorded. Mix materials to produce a <br /> homogeneous grout of desired coneistency. If there is a lapse in the operation, <br /> the grout shall be recirculated through the pump. <br /> 2. The minimum volume of concrete graut placed fn the hole shall at least equal the <br /> volume of the augered hoie. <br /> 3. Concrete grout injection ehall be accomplished during withdrawal of the auger. <br /> Mafntain a minimum head of 3 feet of concrete grout above the injection tip during <br /> withdrawal of the auger to ensure lateral penetrelion end prevent hole collapse. <br /> C. Steel Piles: Steel piles es shown on the drewings shall be embedded the required <br /> depth from the tops of the piles prior to hardening of the concrete grout. <br /> D. Sleeves: Where pile cut-off is near the surface, provide metal aleeves oi the proper <br /> diameter around top of pile to contain concrete grout. <br /> PART 4- MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> 4.01 MEASUREMENT <br /> No separate measurement will be made for"Soldier Piles." <br /> April 27, 2001 02458- 5 <br /> . �J <br />
