July 16, 19(:3
R verand Reginal:'- L. Melhorn
1'1Caain0 Road
Everett, Washington
Dear Reverend Klelhorn:
Yerhap• you ar, aware that this Department is constantly reviewing the
growth situation Ir. the south area of the city. Une of the most important
aspects relating to planned grog:rth is the sufficiency of streets and road-
0 ways to assure adequate access and eRrnse to property, proper location
Of utilities and the frae mo . lent of vehicular traffic.
( It has come to our attentlon that the platted street right-of-way abutting
u the west side of the Temple Naptiat Church property is only 3( feet in
width, all dedicated to the public by the property ;wnera west of your
site. 'rhe stree+ right- of -way abutting Evergreen Glen, north of your
Property, is 60 feet In width dedicated by property owners on both sides
of the centerline of the r, adway. The minimurr, width, considered by the
City Engineers to be adequate, is 6C feet In width and preferably, in
many cases, 80 to 100 fast.
Although nc, construction is contemplated It is imperative that street
right-of-way be acquired before an area is or can be properly developed.
If the Hoard of Directors of your church will consider deeding to the
City of Everett a 30 foot strip of land for public street and ,.tility purposes,
it would no doubt be an eventual benefit to the community and to your own
future devel.,pment.
I would be most happy to have your comments on this matter and assure
You that the City will cooeerate in every detail.
Slm_erely.
F.
