w <br />TO <br />CLarry Crawfor Ron Cameron <br />FROM <br />Pearl Maddy <br />DATE <br />September 15, 1986 <br />SUBJECT <br />Temple Baptist Church <br />1 West Casino Road <br />PDi <br />SEP 16 1986 <br />CITY OF EVERETT <br />CITY OF EVERMft9VMT)W4)RPbTON <br />Cev7eneRt <br />The Board of Adjustment Chairman feels the information in Ron Cameron's May 9, <br />1986, memo (copy attached) was adequately presented to the Board at the <br />September 8, 1986, meeting even though the Board did not have a copy of the <br />memo, and the information in that memo does not address the Board's concerns <br />relating to pedestrian safety in crossing a wide (4-lane), very busy (17,000 <br />TPD) highway where there is no intersection or any other traffic control to <br />insure pedestrian safety. <br />Group Health's lease of 35 parking spaces will increase the number of <br />pedestrian crossing to at least 70 more per d,Jy with the potential for a great <br />deal more. Ron's momo talks about future need for a signal and the feedback <br />we are getting from the Board is that that future may be here now with the <br />additional pedestrian crossings that will !e generated by Group Health's <br />parking lease. <br />kv S;o/• :,Y,t98t <br />Please respond as to the need for a traffic signal at this location or with <br />any new information you can provide relating to the safety of pedestrians <br />crossing Casino Road.
